I am indebted to Phillipa, Hollys sister, for adding bobs to the end of a pefectly good word. So I thought I would expand the idea a bit but not to far, indeed I will confine it to this title and a few subsequent ones.
Having thought it was a good idea at the time we vacated a warm and sunny Ballarat for the more cooler climes of the Australian Alps somewhere near Bright, at a place called Porepunkah. It's at the foot of Mount Buffalo and is named bizarely after the Hindi word for gentle breeze. A change is as good as a rest and the place was really nice and dog friendly apart from an interminable list of things that the dogs couldn't do. So I gave a copy to Charlie and Judy which they prmptly tore into and in some cases inwardly digested.
After a four hour drive I was ready for a beer.
This is part one of the story and it is the wildlife bit. So here come the pictures, they may be a bit fuzzy but one tries.

Nearly every morning the Yellow-tailed Black Cockies would come in and feast on the not very ripe apples. They would then screech off as if they had just eaten not very ripe apples, well what do they expect. They are pretty specky though, and it is always a joy in the garden especially as it isn't my apple tree.
OK I know it's fuzzy but it was the best I got. This male Satin Bowerbird, looking suspiciously like a Blackbird, came down and finished the dogs breakfast. The exception to this rule was when I had the camera prefocussed on the dishes. If anyone is interested I have some great shots of the dog bowls.
