Since coming back from Darwin I haven't done much. I did nip over to the UK for the third time this year which was a bit wearing on the body and the budget. Still my mother has now been resettled in Peterborough and is a lot happier. As seems to be the normal pattern as soon as we get a new dog I go away and leave Holly to train the new arrival. When Judy first arrived she was extremely nervous to say the least but with the dog whispering powers of the Holmeister she has settled in well, not even barking at people when they come into the house, even going up to them. Not quite allowing all of them to touch her but some of the chosen few had had a fondle. So few photos and hopefully I can post a moving picture type thingy. Friends of ours went away hiking so we bravely volunteered to look after their two dogs. From the fish tank outwards we have Emma who was young when dinosaurs ruled the earth. The intellectual looking dude has nothing to do with dogs as such. Next in line is Judy being sociable though not looking to impressed with her next door neighbour who is Mr.Darcy a toothless little fellow but bagfull of character. The one sitting on the arm is of course Charlie. Catching robins of the yellow kind is easy they said so when two PhD students asked me to help catch the aforementioned beasties of course I said sure no problem. Oh what little did I know, on the first visit I was lulled ionto a false sense of security as the robins had a devalued sense of danger and were quite easy to enveigle into a net. As the trrips increased they became increasingly difficult to catch and getting one became a cause for celebration. Why this should be is not absolutely clear though several theories were expounded over the odd beer and glass of vino collapso. my favourite is that the failure to respond to call back is down to them being too busy feeding a burgeoning family. As well as there being no link to Boris Johnson, Donald Trump, Brexit and members of the flat earth society. So we have managed to catch nearly 100 though how many of them are of use I cannot tell as there have been several different areas that have been sampled, Still a good time was had by all. And it will continue into the new year as well.

Hi Pete, good to see that you have dusted off the blog. Great memories of a wonderful trip to the NT. The yellow robins story just goes to show how clever they are. Love your new dog, it is great that they have settled down so nicely together. Happy Christmas to you and Holly. Love, Ian
