It was a nice day though and along with a lot of Curlew Sand and Sharpies there was also heaps of stints and a couple of good candidates for Pectoral Sands. It was bloody hot though and the thirteen people that were there on the megatwitch suffered various forms of sunburn including my nose.
The week to Thursday was spent very pleasantly catching Yellow Robins and watching a great variety of spiders while being deafened by cicadas. What a rotten life. And to add a little spice I got my first lifer for ages when a young Regent Honeyeater was seen in the company of some Wattlebirds. Unfortunately I had my hands full of Robins at the time but as it was only three metres away I didn't need my binoculars.
As for the midwife you just cannot keep a good guppy down, another ten babies were born last week and it seems more are on the way. Bogan fish or what.
