My mate and ex head of Science at Chantry commented what an exciting life I lead well this is the antithesis of interesting. The question is what goes on in Ballarat that makes it famous well check this out on the seismic excitement meter And that's not all I spent most of the day cleaning the car which still shows signs of red dust from Alice where we bought the car as well as red dirt from Broome, ahh happy daze. It's that time of year when more Europeans start to get about like our old friend the German Wasp. After the BBQ the other day we were invaded by the little things obviously attracted by the standard of cooking, or just the meat smells. It is a shame that we don't have really cold winters to kill off the majority and nests can survive years and grow to massive proportions. Interesting how animals adapt to strange environments. Sorry it's not very exciting today but the bird of the day is Red-browed Firetail which is a pretty green finch with a red brow. Go figure.

The wasp stuff is quite interesting. I can't remember being pestered by any wasps while in Cairns, although it was nice and warm.

I love begonias because they don't need much watering - so lucky you, having a whole festival! Especially good when we seniors go south to find warmth.
