Common Sand is the bird today. I also found a very late brood of Blackbird hiding in the willows at the lake but apart from the gloom tyhere were just hordes of people everywhere.
I seem to have misplaced part of the narrative on the spidery bit. Sorry Ian yes it's a huntsman called George otherwise known as Holconia montana. It a lovely wee beastie, it's body is about an inch long perhaps a bit bigger and is an absolute pussycat unless you happen to be on the menu which you wouldn't be as most of the people reading this have a backbone. The bird for yesterday was a Crested Pigeon not normally very exciting but oddly seems rather uncommon in the rat. When I struggle for a new bird it's off to the lake and two surprises the first was a Buff-banded Rail near the botanic gardens the next was even more surprising was a Common Sandpiper near the boat sheds. I must check on the status of the CS I tried to get a picture but it was so far away and gloomy I can't even recognise blobs as people. Maybe tomorrow. In the meantime how about a photo of our water feature in the back garden. Not bad but you should see the water bill. Ok so you may spot the difference here and your starter for ten is which is our garden. To be truthful it looks much better now as we have taken out the daggy tree and replaced it with raised beds populated with mostly natives. And the chillies in the pot are unbelievably hot according to Hol I'm not game enough to try them. Well that's Sunday done and dusted I shall turn my attention to the cricket especially as I have just learnt Ipswich lost. I dread to think what would happen if they got promotion automatic demotion I guess.

Great water feature. I wonder where you found it? And I like the buff-banded rail spot. Any rail is a good'un as far as I am concerned.
